Nick Cox is a specialist dealer in portraiture from the 17th century to the 20th century. He travels extensively to source our ever changing stock, which includes quality oil paintings, drawings, and mezzotints from both British and European artists. Each work of art we offer is extensively researched and described honestly and accurately so that you may buy with confidence.
Our portraits are always more than simple records, they are multi-layered works of art that reflect the virtue, importance, taste and learning of an individual. A particular focus on English art of the 18th century, means that through elaborate costumes or military dress we always stock highly decorative paintings.
Based between North Yorkshire and London we endeavour to answer email enquiries within the hour, and where appropriate we are happy to bring works to your home for approval. Our goods are dispatched within 48 hours to European locations and take between 3 and 5 days to arrive in the USA and world wide.
Return and refund policy
UK
In accordance with gov.uk, online, mail and telephone order customers have the right to cancel their order for a limited time even if the goods are not faulty. Sales of this kind are known as ‘distance selling’.
We will refund customers if they tell us within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. The buyer then has another 14 days to return the goods and they are responsible for this cost.
The dealer must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. The buyer does not have to provide a reason.

EU
In accordance with EU rules on the europa.eu website, you have the right to return purchases made online or through other types of distance selling, such as by phone, mail order or from a door-to-door salesperson, within 14 days for a full refund. You can do so for any reason – even if you simply changed your mind.
